Porous microneedles for pain-free drug delivery

Biologics and peptides now dominate the therapeutic pipeline across chronic conditions, from obesity and cardiometabolic disease to a fast-growing class of GLP-1 receptor agonists. Yet nearly all of these molecules still reach patients through injections, and that delivery format remains one of the biggest barriers to adherence, persistence, and meaningful product differentiation. Autoinjectors and prefilled syringes carry real costs in patient experience, packaging, cold-chain complexity and increased toxicity, leaving a structural gap between the medicines being developed and the way patients actually have to take them.
Anodyne is closing that gap with HeroPatch, a transdermal delivery platform built on porous solid microneedles that deliver large molecules in a pain-free, needle-free, self-applied format. Delivering multi-milligram doses of biologics and peptides through the skin is a genuinely hard engineering problem that very few teams have solved, and Anodyne has the validation data to back it up. The platform releases the drug in dry form once the patch is applied, enabling tunable pharmacokinetics, combination products, and dramatically simpler logistics than conventional injectables.
What convinced us is that HeroPatch is a platform, not a single product. Starting with obesity and cardiometabolic disease as a clear wedge, the same technology extends to a broad universe of injectable therapeutics where delivery experience and lifecycle differentiation matter materially to pharma economics. Anodyne is positioned to turn a difficult delivery challenge into a scalable platform for the next generation of medicines.
